All O&O's professional staff has experience in strategy development, market and competitor analysis, financial analysis and commercial deal support. They come from a variety of backgrounds in economics, strategy, marketing and policy making. Here are the profiles of O&O's senior team:
Mark Oliver – Chief Executive
Mark founded O&O in 1995 having previously been the BBC's first Head of Strategy from 1989 to 1995. Mark directly advises a number of media and entertainment company CEOs, private equity investors and regulatory agencies on strategy, policy and finance and takes a lead role in developing the knowledge and expertise of O&O.
Mark has advised on most of the major developments in the media, entertainment and sports sectors over the last decade including FA Premier League rights auctions, competitive battles in the UK pay TV sector, free to air TV mergers and acquisitions in the UK and continental Europe, the emergence of the UEFA Champions League, BBC Charter and licence fee reviews, Ofcom reviews of public service broadcasting, the growth and global expansion of the UK TV content creation sector, the development of e-commerce and internet betting and the restructuring of the UK radio sector.
Mark has authored articles and reports on a number of media and entertainment industry issues and is Europe's leading expert on the economics of the TV, sport and the content creation sectors. He is often quoted and interviewed in the national press and on national TV and radio, as well as giving occasional keynote presentations at industry conferences and seminars.
Mark has been adviser to the Number 10 Policy Unit and the Department of Culture, Media and Sport. He began his career working as an adviser on regulation, privatisation, strategy and finance at NERA Inc and then Deloitte, Haskins and Sells (now part of PwC in the UK). He has a BA from Hertford College, Oxford.

Sean McGuire – Managing Director
Sean is in charge of all O&O Advisory project work for clients and manages O&O's team of consultants and associates. Since joining O&O in 2006 Sean has led a number of significant assignments ranging from an assessment of UHF spectrum use across Europe to opportunities in the global TV production market and an analysis of the global children's TV sector. Sean has also led many of O&O's commercial due diligence projects covering companies in free to air TV, sports rights and TV production.
Sean joined O&O from strategy consultants LEK prior to which he was Director of Strategic Planning at Telewest Communications plc (now part of Virgin Media), and before that Head of Strategy at BBC News.
Sean has an MA in Engineering and Management Studies from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, and an MBA from INSEAD.

Victoria Flemington – Commercial Director
Victoria joined O&O in 1997 and heads up the financial, administration, marketing and contracting activities at O&O across O&O Advisory, O&O Performance and O&O Trends, as well as advising a range of clients on publishing, intellectual property and licensing issues. Victoria takes a lead role in O&O interview work. She has over 15 years' experience in B2B publishing and marketing and has a BA from Kings College, London.

Alan Ogston – Senior Consultant
Since joining O&O, Alan has continued to lead a wide variety of strategy projects for clients spanning TV production, broadcast, online, print, telecoms and sports sectors. Examples of his project work include: Advising on growth strategies in the global TV production and formats market; Valuation of sports and other programme rights in the UK and internationally (including sell-side and buy-side strategic advice in rights auctions); International channel roll-out strategies for leading rights holders; Development of connected TV and digital advertising strategies for traditional and non-traditional broadcast media organisations, and; Reviews of both the international TV news market and newsgathering activities.
Alan joined O&O in 2008 from Deloitte's strategy consulting practice where he managed strategy and operational transformation assignments for leading media and telecoms organisations. Prior to his five years at Deloitte, Alan was a strategy consultant at Andersen Business Consulting, specialising in online strategy and content management for dot-com and corporate clients.
Alan has a BEng in Engineering, Business Management and European Studies from the University of Strathclyde.

Theresa Vimmerslev – Consultant
Theresa joined O&O in 2001 and has experience covering a broad spectrum of media sectors including TV production, film distribution, sport rights, radio broadcasting, consumer magazines and TV broadcasting in the UK and continental Europe, for broadcasters and leading sports rights owners.
Theresa has also worked on a large number of commercial due diligence projects covering companies in sports rights distribution, TV production and radio.
Theresa takes a lead on our European market work and has also managed O&O's input into three studies concerning the TV Without Frontiers (TVWF) / Audiovisual Media Services (AVMS) Directive for the European Commission.
Theresa has a three-country three-diploma European Masters in Management with distinction from ESCP Europe and speaks six European languages.

Nick Beazley – Consultant
Nick joined O&O in 2007, and has worked on assignments covering TV production, radio broadcasting, on-screen talent valuations, film post-production and industry regulatory issues.
Nick takes a leading role in all sports rights valuation work and has recently worked for several Premier League clubs, advising them on their media rights options, has looked at sports businesses and takes a lead in sports talent assessment. He has also project managed, delivered analysis and supported the commercial negotiations and planning scenarios that led to the successful award of Premier League rights to a new broadcast offering.
Nick has a BA in French from Bristol University, and a Masters in European Business from the European Management School (ESCP Europe). He speaks fluent French.

Jeremy Michaels – Consultant
At O&O Jeremy has worked on assignments including forecasting the future size of the film industry by window and country, channel alignment for a European broadcaster and portfolio, and content pipeline management for a global media company, as well as designing and commissioning consumer research covering the demand for digital music and the relative appeal of named top TV talent. He plays a lead role in developing and managing the strategy for one of the largest digital hubs in Europe, supporting ambitious plans to build a self-sustaining digital ecosystem, and is also currently developing a unique, bespoke financing facility for European football clubs with a leading, niche, independent sports finance specialist services company.
Jeremy joined O&O as in April 2011 from maegi, a niche consultancy and film finance business that he founded in January 2005 and focused predominantly on delivering projects for media, financial services, and government and public sector clients in the UK and US. Prior to this Jeremy spent five years at Deloitte in their People & Change division focusing on TMT industry clients. He also gained invaluable experience in the dot.com boom, working in e-Learning, webcasting and video streaming.
Jeremy speaks fluent French, business Spanish and is learning Japanese. He has a BSC in Economics and Accounting (with French and Law) from Bristol University.

Matt Cain – Consultant
Matt's work at O&O has focussed on the radio and television markets. In radio, this has included assignments across the domestic and European markets, involving commercial due diligence and analysis of European regulatory environments, as well as consumer research into on air talent. In television, Matt's work has covered elements of the UK animation market, along with detailed work on public service broadcasting, both in the UK and across Europe. Matt is experienced in cost reduction and process management work and in managing analytical work modules to tight deadlines.
Matt joined O&O in 2012 from the National Audit Office, where he took a lead role in the team tasked with oversight of the BBC.
Matt has a BSc in Economics from Nottingham and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants for England and Wales with an ACA.

Reef Read – Associate
Reef leads O&O's internal digital initiatives and is a thought leader in the sectors of music, publishing and social networking. At O&O Reef has worked on a range of projects for the BBC, ITV, The European Commission, due diligence for a super-indie, channel alignment for a major Dutch broadcaster, market size assessments for the European Commission, sports strategy for a major UK pay TV operator and forecasting the effects of the digital transition in the UK publishing industry.
Reef joined O&O as an Associate in 2010, after working for a green technology consultancy based in Brussels.
Reef has an MSc in Economic History from the London School of Economics and a BSc. in Management Science from Cass Business School.

Julien Zamberk – Associate
Julien joined O&O in 2012 and has worked on assignments including a range of sports rights valuations for broadcasters, agencies and governing bodies. Julien has also been involved in projects covering commercial due diligence for global media companies as well as UK broadcasting strategies and international benchmarking analyses.
Julien has a BA in Managing and Developing Sport from the University of Southampton and an MSc in Management from the London School of Economics as well as a CEMS Master in International Management. His native language is German.

Ian Sampson – Operations Manager
Ian joined O&O in 2012 as Operations Manager with a background in marketing and operations in both the Media and Banking sectors.
Ian looks after events, marketing, recruitment and handling the team's busy diaries. In addition to this he supports Victoria Flemington in all aspects of finance, HR, contracting and administration activities.
Ian has a BA in Sociology from Leeds University.
